Criminal defense: Vehicular homicide charge leveled after crash

When a car accident results in a death, it is not unusual for criminal charges to result. If authorities believe that the driver considered at fault was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, it is even more likely for that driver to face charges. After such an event, the accused driver will certainly want to review his or her criminal defense options.

It was recently reported that a car accident in New Jersey has led to criminal charges. Apparently, a 22-year-old man was driving a vehicle when he failed to maintain his lane and collided with another car. There were eight people involved in the crash, and six of those people were in the vehicle that was hit.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit died from the injuries he suffered. Multiple others were considered to be in critical condition. Authorities believe that the driver of the other vehicle was under the influence at the time of the accident. As a result, he is currently facing criminal charges for vehicular homicide and seven counts of assault by auto.

Criminal charges are not easy to handle, especially those that result from a death. Nonetheless, the man involved in this New Jersey accident has the right to create and present a criminal defense against the allegations brought against him. This task may prove challenging for him, and it may work in his best interests to consider gaining reliable information and assistance that could allow him to better address his case.
